Abstract

Technology plays a pivotal role in modifying the curriculum for students with learning disabilities. Five cogent areas, criteria for the selection of software, using computer games, the Internet as a tool for teaching across the curriculum, using multimedia, and using hypermedia, are identified as key components for modification. Concerns about how teachers may be isolated from using technology are also included. Specific activities for modifying the curriculum for students with learning disabilities in each of the five areas are discussed. A list of Internet sites that can be used to teach across areas of the curriculum is provided as are strategies for using sites specifically for this purpose.
