Abstract

This article focuses on the outcome of childhood learning disabilities, adult symptomatology, and the educational and vocational status ofadults with learning disabilities. The major conclusions are that learning disabilities are life-long disabilities and that childhood deficiencies in reading, language, memory, attention, visual perception, and social-emotional adjustment do not disappear. These difficulties often affect the educational attainment, employment options, interpersonal relationships, and emotional well being of adults with learning disabilities.
