Abstract

The case history reported in this article was undertaken with an older adult who resided in a nursing home and displayed the symptoms associated with dementia and depression. This case history documents several ofthe unique treatment issues related to working with older adults with symptoms associated with the early stages of dementia and depression. Additionally, the effectiveness of using two assessment tools from the gerontology literature as part of the therapeutic recreation process are discussed.

Retention of Rights for Scholarly Purposes
